Commissions Are Calculated Based on Invoice Dates
Order Status Does Not Affect Commissions
Questions:
- Why don’t commissions show if the order status is Completed, Shipped, or Delivered?
- What is needed in an order for the commissions to be calculated?
- When are commissions calculated in Pillars?
Main Points:
- Invoice Dates are required to calculate commissions.
- Commissions are calculated as soon as Pillars receives the Invoice Date for an order.
- Order Status does not affect commissions calculation.
- Pillars simply posts the Order Status it receives from the e-commerce, or front-end vendor where the order was placed. Pillars does not generate it.
- If the Invoice Date for an order is null, commissions will not be calculated for that order.
Explanation:
If the invoice date is not passed to Pillars, commissions will not be calculated nor paid on the order because commissions are only calculated once Pillars receives the invoice date for the order. Regardless of the order status, commissions won't be calculated, let alone paid, if the invoice date in Pillars is null. Pillars simply posts the order status received from the money-in vendor on the order; order status has nothing to do with the commission. In other words, if the invoice date is null, there will be no commission generated or paid on the order, even if the order status is Shipped or Delivered.
Again, order status is literally just a pass-through posting that Pillars receives from the e-commerce vendor.
To reiterate, if Pillars doesn't receive an invoice date for an order, commissions are not calculated and therefore cannot be paid on that order. When Pillars receives the invoice date for an order, commissions are calculated and posted to "Pending Commissions" widgets and other reports showing earned amounts.
